Golden Morning (or Urban Landscape) by Wilfredo Calderon

Gold, the Morning is Gold

After the painting by Wilfredo Calderon

In Memory of Aniceto O Llaneta

Gold, the morning is gold

Could there be any more golder?

The oranges and yellows

Merge converse whisper

Love is gold nothing could be golder

The hornbills and turtledoves

Cree and caw and coo

The blue kingfisher is lonely

For the carp twisting under ripples

Who could be bluer?

Only the carp could be gold golder

The whole city rises

Roofs eaves awnings

In carts and bicycles the vendors ply

Their wares windows are thrown open

The sunlight comes in

Fills all the cracks and crevices

The shadows vanish

the whole city is bathing

What could be gold golder?
