Tokhang is a portmanteau coined by the police. It means, in the Visayan language, to “knock” and “plead,” from “toktok” (knock), and “hangyo” (to plead or persuade). It also describes the procedure of the house call on the suspected drug user based on a list.Thus it also means “Open up or else…”. In the current context, it is synonymous or interchangeable with “EJK” or extrajudicial killing.
